Project description

The general objective of the project is to develop a clinical decision support system focused in neurological dysfunctions. This system will be integrated by automatic diagnostic entities based on artificial intelligence but also by inputs that can personalized the diagnostic (depending, for example, of the style of life of the the evolution of treatments. Considerations of medical alerts and interactions with doctors and other patients are also included in the project. To identify any neurological dysfunction, neurologists use several techniques which have been developed based on experience. All these techniques allow identifying symptoms of a dysfunction or disease based on the observation of a series of characteristics. It is important to bear in mind that the diagnosis of neurological diseases through the interpretation of clinical information can be a difficult task and a disease can be mismatched. The university research has extensive experience in developing systems to help in the diagnosis of several diseases through the analysis of clinical data. In the future, this system could be used as a support decision system to help to the doctor in the diagnosis.

Profile of partnership sought

The research group is looking for hospitals with experts in neurology that act as consultants who could test and validate the system with real patients. The research group would also need databases with diagnostic information (no confidential) from patients with neurological diseases.
